Conditions:
Multi-day or Multi-weekend Races: Stories unfold over multiple days or weekends, mirroring the endurance required for real-world logistics.
Realistic Scenarios: Challenges stay within the boundaries of the race principles and focus on authenticity.
Budget Transparency: Teams must work within minimum, maximum budgets for their transporation they use.
Diverse Cargo: Each challenge specifies the type of cargo (fragile, temperature-controlled, high-volume, etc.), the distance, and conditions for transport.
Local Seasons & Locations: Races are adapted to local geography, weather, and available resources.
How it works
People submit their race challenges on Reddit based on the race principles
The community and partners will select ideas. After, races are proposed within the appropriate season
(Local) Teams can apply to the race. The more local the more budget you get to succeed in the race, encouraging local teams to apply
The race is organised with gathering local partners, broadcasting partner and local film crews
The race happens and is broadcasted or covered by video. Follow the stories online and promote Solarpunk futures.

A crazy positive idea
About Cargo Races
Milan had a crazy positive idea while gravel riding, with his company Online and Kicking he has a background in (live) video, design and community. With this race he wants to highlight sustainability, community, and innovation with mixed gender teams, within the Doughnut Economics framework.

Guiding
Race principles
Local Focus: Teams receive a bigger budget for sourcing local materials and solutions. Only locally available resources can be used for vehicle modification or repair.
Self sufficient and reliance If you use electric motors, you got to power the motor it self self as well, with solar or wind power, which needs to come from your budget
Mixed-Gender Challenges: Following principles of equality and collaboration, most challenges require mixed-gender teams.
Sustainable Media Coverage: Camera crews use sustainable transport (e.g., electric or cargo bikes, Zero motorcycles, etc). Teams are some times required to carry media personnel as part of their cargo load.
Community Engagement: Focus on local fans and on-the-ground community support.
Seasonal Races: We’ll try to do four races per year, one for each season.
